Report:

In recent visit to Ethiopia we were informed that $300.00 CD could cover the cost of one meal a day, school material, and school uniform for one child for one school year. Furthermore, mothers of sponsored children will be eligible to participate in Income Generating Activities (IGA) provided by the local government and other agencies. This program ... which was implemented in partnership with local governments, community associations, schools and teachers' unions and individual and groups sponsors support more than 300,000 school children in Addis Ababa alone and fewer number of children in rural Ethiopia. The program has managed to minimize the cost per child per year due to its reliance on and attachment with local governments and other local civic bodies for implementation. Hundred percent (100%) of the fund is guaranteed to meet the aforementioned needs of the children as the cost of implementation is distributed among local governments and other entities affecting no fund designated for the children.

Action & Plan:

Thank God, Revive Hope has selected and sponsored 12 most disadvantaged children from Addis Ababa Zone, Arsi Oromia and Amhara Regions of Ethiopia for 2018/2019 school year. With your donation, we facilitated basic needs such as uniform, food and school supplies and enabled them to successfully attend their classes for the entire year. If the kids had not been sponsored, they would have missed one more academic year.

We established a multiple control system by engaging Kebel Mahber/Gebere Mahiber representatives, School Principals, Teachers Union, Parents Committee, sponsored children and their Parents to make sure the fund is managed and distributed as planed throughout the year. Moreover, we follow up the children's progress every three months and our representative in Ethiopia visits the sponsored children at least three times a year.

Since we are a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization with no overhead expenses, all your donations go to the intended mission. Revive Hope will use the opportunity to work closely with different concerned entities to expand educational support for 100 children and help implement programs that could help empower mothers to be self-sufficient and self-reliant next year.

At Revive Hope EAS, it is our principle not to post images of those we are trying to aid as we think it is not only violating privacy and human rights but also it deprives children's dignity and has a long-term consequence on their psychological well being. However, for those who are interested, we are more than happy to provide contact details of the School principals, Teachers Unions and Local Authorities whom we are working with.
